The "Ciro Fund" is named for K-9 Ciro whose handler last his battle to cancer in 2015; both Office Ken Bernstein and K-9 Ciro were in the prime of the careers. K-9 Ciro now lives with Offer Bernstein's family, which is often the case with a K-9 handler passes. In these situations, the family is left with the responsibility of the veterinary care. The "Ciro Fund" will help alleviate this burden for other families in the same situation.
The "Ciro Fund" will be specifically used to assist with medical care of the K-9 who has lost their human partner.
The generous contribution by the Bernstein Family Fund was beneficial in the establishment of MARK-9.
