Officer Clement and K9 Wrecker were assigned to the K9 Unit in March of 2016.  K9 Wrecker was certified through the United States Police Canine Association as a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics detection K9.  K9 Wrecker is trained in obedience, tracking, building and area searches, evidence searches, agility, handler protection, criminal apprehension, and narcotic detection. In May of 2022 K9 Wrecker was diagnosed with cancer.  After a successful surgery in the summer of 2022, K9 Wrecker is now cancer free.  K9 Wrecker retired from service in August 2023 after his handler was promoted to Sergeant.  K9 Wrecker lives with Sergeant Clement and his family enjoying a “dogs” life.
