Tim Cook was trained as a Vapor Wake Explosive Detection Canine in Anniston, AL by VWK9. Tim Cook was partnered with Sergeant Gerald Gustavson and worked out of Chicago Union Station, Central Division for the Amtrak Police Department. Tim Cook received many nicknames from the officers due to his uniquely human name. Such nicknames as TK, Sir Tim, Timmy Cooker, Tim-mer’s, T, Cookers, Timmy Boy and TIMMAH!

Tim Cook worked out of Chicago Union Stations protecting Amtrak passengers and the traveling public from explosive devices. Tim Cook has been deployed all over the country for events. He has been deployed to San Jose, CA for the 2019 college football national championship to protect fans traveling to the game. In 2019, Tim Cook responded to a critical incident at the Henry Pratt facility in Aurora, IL. In 2020, Tim Cook, was deployed to the 46th presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. Tim Cook’s mission was to screen Amtrak passengers in the stations and on the trains. Tim Cook would also ride the trains and conduct sweeps of passengers boarding at outer stops.
Tim Cook loved training between screening trains.

Timmy Cook retired May 10, 2021. He now resides with his Handler Sgt. Gerald Gustavson. Timmy loves his human brother and two sisters and mama. He likes playing catch, going on walks and swim. Timmy provided a service that we should never forget. Timmy Cook is loved.
