K9 Asher was born in 2012 at Crooked Creek Ranch in Missouri. He entered into a program to become a guide dog with Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. He decided that wasn’t the line of work he was looking for and soon joined the Connecticut State Police as a patrol K-9 in 2014. After much success on patrol he was invited to further his portfolio, joining the search and rescue team. In his career he successfully located many lost and missing persons, tracked down violent criminals, located evidence, cleared buildings and homes, located and saved the life of a woman who had attempted to harm herself, and assisted in several high profile searches utilizing his cadaver skills. K9 Asher and his patrol K9 brothers and sisters are the best back-up to any officer and his handler is forever grateful to have been able to work with him.
