K-9 Ciro retired in 2015 due to his handler’s illness and upon retirement, he began his life as a family pet.
He maintains part-time employment as a Working Dog Ambassador partnering with Dr. Alexis Newman at Partners and Paws Veterinary Services (Lisle, IL) and with MARK-9 visiting communities to spread goodwill, participating in fundraising for retired working canines, and assists with educational opportunities for communities and K9 handlers and their own working dogs.
