Hogyn is from the Czech and he was paired with his handler at 1 years old. His name was chosen by his handler and means “Young lad” in Gaelic. He loves going for walks, playing “fetch” and spending time with his handler.

Update: K9 Hogyn retired in September 2022 and his handler, Danielle, retired along with him. Since then they have been staying very active and spend a lot of time outside. In July 2023 the household grew by 1 German Shepherd when we took in Ox, who is a now 3 year old Czech GSD like Hogyn. These two became best buds very quickly and love to run, walk, swim or just lay together. They share toys, food and treats and act like true gentlemen while doing it. Hogyn transitioned into retirement life without skipping beat, most importantly because him and Danielle retired at the same time and continue to spend a lot of time together.

Hogyn is often a foster brother to younger dogs who come into the house for short periods, while Danielle trains and then finds them new homes. Hogyn enjoys being the King of the home and is always so gentle with them when he teaches them manners and boundaries.

Hogyn’s health has been great and he continues to thrive and show minimal size of aging. We are so grateful and thankful for the assistance we receive from Mark-9 as it helps Hogyn to stay healthy and continue with the few medications he needs each day. Hogyn has allergies so not only does he need regular medications, but he also eats a raw food diet which helps to keep his allergies under control.

I’m looking forward to many more wonderful years with Hogyn as we continue to explore and travel during our retirement years ago.

Thank you Mark-9, Dr. Alexis Newman and staff, as well as all the donors. Your assistance and donations do not go unnoticed.
