K9 Jax was added to the Guilford Police Department roster in early 2020, and graduated from the Connecticut State Police patrol K9 class #211 in June of 2020. During his 5 years on the road, K9 Jax assisted the GPD patrol division, and multiple surrounding agencies, with many cases, ranging from burglaries, missing persons, domestic disputes, aided persons calls, etc. K9 Jax had multiple tracking finds during his career.

In February of 2025, the decision to retire K9 Jax was made between the CSP K-9 unit and the Guilford Police Department.

Update 2025: K9 Jax is settling into retirement and learning how to be a pet, while driving my wife and my personal dog crazy!
