K9 Kilo is a retired single purpose narcotic detection Black Lab who set the standards high within the Tampa Police Department. He was born in Lynwood Washington on 4/12/2010 and took no time adjusting to the Florida weather. He was purchased with the funds donated by Mr. Richard Gonzmart who is the owner of the famous Columbia Restaurant. Kilo was employed with Tampa for approximately 10 years. His first handler (K9 Cpl Kevin Doan) retired in 2017 turning Kilo over to K9 Ofc Bradley Simmonds. Kilo never missed a beat during the transition. Kilo served the Tamp Police Department with honors and is now enjoying his retirement life living with K9 Ofc Simmonds.
