Kye began his service with the Charleston Police Department in November of 2016. Kye retired in May of 2025 with over 400 deployments, which included many notable narcotics arrest, tracks, and apprehensions. Kye maintained state certifications, as well as certifications through the United States Police Canine Association, in which he excelled. Kye was most known locally for his appearance in the AKC Detection Dog Challenge that aired on ESPN, where Kye finished 4th against narcotics teams from across the country. Kye has transitioned well into retirement, spending time with his human brother and sister and the family (also retired) bird dog.
