K9 Mirko and I met and were paired together November 26th, 2018. He was doubly named “K9 Mirko-Mercer” after Wesley Mercer who perished while evacuating employees from the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

K9 Mirko loved his job and working with his Handler. He is well known for his mean-mug expression. He, to this day, is an expert snuggler and snores very loudly when he sleeps. Mirko loves playing catch at home with his favorite nerf football and his big bro, Retired K9 Bruce. Post retirement, he likes to help out with projects around his backyard. Being born in Georgia, Mirko is not a fan of snow, but loves to swim in the pond in the summer.

Update: Mirko keeps a tight schedule in his retirement. If either of his parents are late from work, he starts barking up a storm. He enjoys is special individual time and rides to get coffee. He even enjoys seeing the Veterinarian!
