K-9 Molly was a narcotic detection K-9 for about 8 years. She was the Montville Police Department’s first K9 and was handled by Detective Saffioti. Molly loved helping teach DARE and was trained to detect Marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, steroids and heroin. K-9 Molly was trained to search vehicles, people, residences, self storage units and other various places where drugs could be hidden. She retired and has been doing well, living with her family in East Lyme, Connecticut. Molly enjoys walks, lounging on the couch and finally being able to eat out of a bowl. For those who do not know Molly was hand fed her entire career so the bowl was something new.

Update 2025:  K-9 Molly is currently in physical therapy for a torn right ACL. She is doing really well. She enjoys the water tank and treadmill and limping is minimal. She continues to take Gabapentin, Prednisone and Lasix daily.
