K9 Taz is a Belgian Malinois who began his career in 2012 with the Tampa Police Department. He was partnered and spent his entire career as a Patrol/Explosive Detection K9 Team with Master Police Officer (MPO) Britt Martinez. K9 Taz was instrumental in keeping the many parades, events, and sporting venues safe for the citizens of Tampa. In addition, he captured numerous felony criminal suspects and kept countless fellow Officers out of harms way. The City of Tampa and MPO Martinez are forever in his debt. At 10.5 years old, K9 Taz now enjoys retirement with his handler, family members, and his cherished Kong.
