K9 Dutch was born in Hungary on May 10th 2015. Dutch was partnered with his handler in August 2016 at Shallow Creek Kennels. Dutch attended the 10 week Basic K9 program with Illinois State Police in Fall of 2016 with his handler. Dutch was trained as a dual purpose Narcotics Detection/Patrol K9. Throughout his career Dutch had over 1000 deployments and assisted with hundreds investigations and arrests. Dutch was responsible for locating dozens of suspects, contraband/evidence, and narcotics.
Sadly Dutch was retired March of 2023 upon his handler’s promotion. Dutch now gets to live out the good retired life with his family at home.
Dutch’s handler is my son and I am so proud of them both I was always relieved a bit when I knew Dutch was with my son. I do have to say I was always intimidated by Dutch so I hope he and I can now be buds.
