K9 Kizmet retired August of last year after serving 10 years as a narcotic detector dog with the Broward Sheriff’s Office. K9 Kizmet was assigned to the Narcotics Interdiction Task Force. During her years of service K9 Kizmet kept close to 3,600 kgs of illegal narcotics off the streets and assisted in the seizure of over $10,000,000 in illegal drug proceeds. K9 Kizmet is enjoying retirement but would prefer to go to work every day. K9 Kizmet’s work partner Packer, a currency detector dog, is set to retire soon which should make staying home somewhat easier.
Above is a pic of retired K9 Packer (currency detection) and retired K9 Kizmet (narcotics detection). Both served the Broward Sheriff’s Office for ten years side by side. Packer was famous for pooping wherever he saw fit. No matter how many breaks he had, he always saved just enough to create a “cleanup on isle two”! Kizmet worked at a fast pace, and often did fly by food snatching from people at the airport. They didn’t see it coming! Packer and Kizmet were hard working detection canines that were both dependable and entertaining. Packer and Kizmet are enjoying retirement at home and surprisingly get along great with their replacements Betah and Mater. Thank you so much MARK-9, and those who donate to it, for your support!
