He was purchased by KPD and imported to the United States in the summer of 2014. Nash was then assigned to Sgt. (Patrolman at the time) Andrew DiSalvo. Nash began training and certified in narcotics in the fall of 2014, and became a dual-purpose canine in the winter of 2015. Nash functioned as a narcotics detection and patrol dog and was utilized in hundreds of deployments during his career. Nash’s usages led to the recovery of a vast amount of illegal drugs, illegal firearms, and the apprehension of multiple dangerous felons. Additionally, Nash’s efforts led to the recovery of endangered missing persons on multiple occasions. Nash retired in May 2021 and currently lives at home where he enjoys long walks and playing with the newest addition to the family, his two legged brother.
