K9 Silver was born in Slovakia in 2014, and was purchased by the Connecticut State Police in 2015 where he began his career as a patrol K9. He successfully conducted numerous tracks of wanted and missing persons, apprehensions, evidence recoveries, building searches, and protected his handler on a daily basis. In 2017, K9 Silver completed the Narcotics Detection course and became a dual-purpose K9. He was responsible for numerous narcotics seizures, and regularly assisted local municipalities as well as federal agencies including the FBI and DEA. K9 Silver led a successful career with the Connecticut State Police, and eventually retired in 2022. He is now enjoying his well-earned retirement at home with his handler and family.
Update: K9 Silver is enjoying his retirement and has not slowed down at all! He has transitioned very well from a police K9 to a family dog. He will be turning 11 years old this Spring 2025, and remains healthy and happy!
